How to wear the Jacket – from Old to New Styling

The trend for a jacket is never out of the magazines, short, long, boxy, or bright there is always an edit with a jacket. I have a penchant for a jacket and have many times raided my mums’ wardrobe to wear an over-sized garment. The last few weeks we have had lot's of jackets and coats in and I have styled them so you get an idea of how to either dress up, dress down or turn a timeless classic into a cool accessory to your wardrobe. An occasion jacket is not just for a wedding you know!!

My tips on wearing the Oversized Jacket

Team with a slim pair of jeans, high shoes, roll up the cuffs and fashion with an over the shoulder bag, a white shirt always keeps it simple however to really edge it up put on a logo’d Tee.

The Short Jacket

Team a shorter jacket with a long skirt, a pair of jeans, layer it with a longer piece or go cropped, whatever you are feeling!!  These images of Eloise she is wearing an elder ladies’ jacket and she has managed to pull this look off so it looks contemporary, the same with the green and the yellow, short little jackets over-sized but cute with jeans and white trousers.

The Tunic Jacket

These have a mandarin collar and mixed yarns and silk, not something I would naturally pull off the rails to look at but the way we have styled it with the Buttie Bag and the slouchy UGG bag makes the outfit appear much younger, the jackets are over-sized and even though originally bought for a special occasion how we have styled them makes them cool and casual.  Sizes from 14-16.

Something Borrowed Something Blue

The cheesecloth jacket very on trend in the 80’s is coming back and we have an over-sized single breasted jacket that is so on point, this would look great with jeans and even a pair of denim shorts so the jacket is the same length, very versatile and perfect for summer.

The short shimmer jacket below again an occasion piece, but why should it be, hear we have it with over-sized jeans and cropped top and converse, Eloise can wear anything and this image SOLD is great!!
